Helicopter Emergency Flotation Systems
Marotta's state-of-the-art fast-response inflation valves and bottles for helicopter inflation systems meet the stringent requirements of inflation times and reliability.
Aircraft Evacuation Slides
In service on several aircraft, our inflation valves control the flow of gaseous nitrogen to each slide for rapid development from each aircraft exit in order to accomplish the evacuation of passengers within the stringent time requirements set by aviation regulations.
Landing Gear Blowdown Systems
These systems require fast response valves to unlock and lower landing gear in the event of a failure of the main landing gear lowering system.
We're In Control
In response to a need from the US Navy to replace the existing squib actuated EFS system on its SH-60 helicopters, Marotta worked closely with its customer and the US Navy to develop the PPS102 Valve and Bottle System.
The system was specifically designed to provide the advantages inherent to a solenoid actuated valve system along with the size and weight features of a squib-actuated system. This was achieved by using the Marotta SPV241 valve that contains a unique seal configuration that matches the internal leakage characteristics of a metallic disc. Unlike the disc, the seal in the SPV241 provides a consistent full-open flow path when actuated. The valve's unobstructed orifice opening ensures a fast and consistent fluid discharge rate.
