Expert Controls for Corrosive Fluids

As a result of our flight heritage and reliable performance on several launch vehicle programs as well as our understanding of fluid controls for corrosive fluids such as molten liquid iodine, our valves and components were selected as critical elements in the Airborne Laser (ABL) program.

We are a qualified strategic partner on the Airborne Laser program, supplying valves for critical applications involving molten liquid iodine, chlorine, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. Our knowledge and expertise in working with a variety of similarly corrosive fluids was instrumental to our selection for this program.

We're In Control

Our involvement with Airborne Laser technology dates back to the mid 1990s. At that time a version of our standard solenoid valve was successfully developed for the aircraft gas generator on the then-new ABL program. Our valve was specifically designed to control a line fluid of 70% hydrogen peroxide, a key component of a high power chemical laser.

In 1998 we were approached regarding the modification of off-the-shelf valves to be used in the laser generator modules on what is now the YAL-1 ABL laser platform. This program exceeded goals while overcoming the challenges of difficult working fluids and an extended period of requirements definition.
