product overview

The PLV600 is designed to satisfy today’s aerospace requirements for a small, lightweight, high performance piloting solenoid valve.

This pilot valve provides high reliability by combining a low part count with proven concepts that have demonstrated over half a million cycles in other Marotta products. The valve features a metal-to-metal seating configuration that uses a hard metal ball on a metal seat.

The PLV600 utilizes a simple mounting cavity and two threaded holes to fasten the valve in position. This mounting configuration avoids having to pressurize the retaining threads. The coil lead wires can be routed through the body or through the top of the valve at the customer’s option.

With the coil de-energized, the return spring applies a load to the sealing ball that is adequate to seal the ball closed against supply pressure. When the ball is on the pressure seat, the common and return ports are common (De-Energized Position).

Energizing the solenoid causes the plunger to pull up until it contacts the stop. This allows pressure to force the ball up against the upper seat sealing it off from the common port. While the valve is energized, the pressure port and common port are common (Energized Position).
